Employer-Specific Work Permit

An employer-specific work permit contains,

Candidates who are applying for the Employer-specific work permit must have a positive LMIA to receive the job offer.

 

LMIA Canada

Candidates migrating to Canada must have qualified in the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) with a positive result. LMIA reports help to hire skilled workers for various professions. For some categories of jobs, LMIA is required, while some categories are exempted from the LMIA.

 

IEC Canada

The International Experience Canada (IEC) program allows young candidates to travel and work outside Canada for up to 2 years. The IEC program has 3 main categories.

How to apply for Work permit in Canada?

Check your eligibility per the National Occupational Classification (NOC) code and apply for a work permit.

Step 1: Select the apt immigration program that suits your profile. The immigration programs are the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the Express Entry system, or specific streams like the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.

Step 2: Get a job offer from a Canadian employer. You should get a positive result if your job falls under the LMIA requirements. If in case of direct recruitment by the employer, LMIA is exempted.

Step 3: Make sure to arrange all the required documents, such as educational documents, experience proofs, language proficiency test results, and an offer letter from the employer.

Step 4: Create a profile to apply for a work visa with all your work, experience, skills, language proficiency, and other information.

Step 5: Fill out the online application with all the required information, enclose all the required documents, and apply for the work permit. Pay the required application fee.

Step 6: Attend the biometrics at the designated location. Also, be sure to take all the required medical tests. A panel physician must approve the medical examination results.

Step 7: The authorities will process your application. Wait for the final result. It may take a couple of months for the results to be announced.

Step 8: Upon receiving a Canada work permit, check all the details, such as type of work, place, duration, and other information.
