Eligibility for Germany Opportunity Card

To be eligible for the Germany Opportunity Card, you must:

  • Have at least 2 years of valid vocational training or a university degree
  • Have at least 2 years of professional work experience
  • Have the required proficiency in the English or German language
  • Be 18 to 40 years of age
  • Have proof of previous visits to Germany. Tourist stays are not considered valid. 
  • Adequate funds of €12,324 per annum to sponsor yourself in Germany

To apply for the Germany Opportunity Card, you must have the following documents: 

  • A valid passport issued in the last 10 years Evidence of your residence:
  • Residency certificate
  • Proof of identity
  • Certification of vocational training

  • Health insurance valid for the entire duration of your stay in Germany
  • A valid notice of recognition from German authorities
