Australia Replaces ANZSCO with OSCA for Occupational Classification
Australia replaced ANZSCO with OSCA on December 6, 2024. OSCA is an updated framework for job classifications based on the needs of the Australian labor market.

Northern Territory's General Skilled Migration (GSM) updated the nomination program for 2024-25
Northern Territory's General Skilled Migration has updated the allocation capacity for 2024-2025 programs. Currently, the allocation portal has been suspended. Eligible candidates' applications received before the suspension will still be assessed before the suspension will be for eligible applicants to be issued notifications.New applications can apply for the 2025-26 year program.

Important Announcement: International students must submit Confirmation of Enrolment to apply for an Australia student visa
International students must submit Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) instead of Letters of Offer from January 1, 2025. Applications without (CoE) will be invalid, potentially affecting their lawful status. This initiative aims to prevent visa misuse by ensuring that genuine students make applications. Applications previously submitted before January 1, 2025, with a Letter of offer, won't be affected by the new rule.

VETASSESS added 20 more occupations under the Australia new skill in demand visa
VETASSESS will accept applications for 20 additional occupations aligned with the Australian Government by introducing the subclass 482 and Subclass 186 visas. The Skill in Demand visa has been replaced by the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) and the new Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).

TRA mandates Skill assessment for the New SID visa
Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) declared that Skills Assessments for 23 occupations are mandatory to apply under the New Skills in Demand visa. Candidates must take the New Skills in Demand visa skill assessment for their occupation under TRS’s responsibility to continue applying for the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) skills assessment program. TSS applications received by TRA from 7 December 2024 will be assessed for a Skill in Demand visa.

Australia launched the New Skilled in Demand visa instead of the TSS.
The Australia TSS visa will be replaced with the New Skill in Demand visa on December 7, 2024. The New Skills in Demand visa streams are Essential Skills, Core Skills Pathway, Pathway, and Skills Pathway. The new skilled-in-demand visa will cover 465 occupations, including Tech jobs, and will apply to Subclass 186 visas. This visa will enable business candidates to explore the streams that benefit employers and skilled professionals.

Australia introduced a National Innovation visa (subclass 858) visa instead of a Global Talent Independent visa.
The Global Talent Independent visa has been changed to National Innovation (subclass 858). The processing and requirements for National Innovation (subclass 858) are the same as those for the GTI visa. To apply for a National Innovation visa, an applicant must:

Processing cost: Candidates over 18 should pay AUD 4,840.00, and dependents under 18 must pay AUD 2425 and AUD 1210.
English language requirement: Functional Level English is required (Can be proved if an applicant has studied in an English medium school or IELTS band score of 5)

Australia improved the new core Skill Occupation List (CSOL) on December 3, 2024. The new CSOL replaces the old fort in the temporary skilled visa program. On December 7, 2024, the TSS visa will be replaced and applied to the core skills stream of the new Skills in Demand visa. Subclass 186 visa candidates are eligible to apply for this list.
